In 2006, various associations in Germany and some other European countries joined forces and founded the Federation of Dersim Communities in Europe (FDG).
The aim of this federation is to promote the cultural activities of these associations and the integration of the population of Dersim in Europe, and to coordinate solidarity work with Dersim.
Topics are the nature, culture and memories of the people of Dersim.
We are the umbrella organisation of Dersimer clubs in Europe. We represent the Kırmanç/Zaza Alevis. There are about 250,000 to 300,000 people living in Europe who feel they belong to this culture.
Examples of the tasks of our associations.
- Advice on social issues, relations with authorities.
- Competence for better educational opportunities for migrant families, older people, women and young people.
- Networking with other migrants, organisations and club representatives.
- Every year in May, the FDG organizes a large event to commemorate TERTELE 37/38 (the genocide of the Dersimers).
- Preservation of the traditional festivals of the Dersimliler in Europe. Among others, the Gagan Festival, the Xeylas Festival and also the Muslim Feast of Sacrifice.
- Language lessons, Zaza language lessons.
- Dance, music and folklore groups as well as youth groups.
