We will commemorate it even stronger with each passing year!
We commemorated tens of thousands of innocent people who were massacred in the 86th year of Tertele with various events we organized. We have made our pain more visible. We made new friends. This year, we have voiced our demands for confrontation and justice.
Our first commemoration took place on 4 May at the Bundestag.
As the President of the Assembly of the German Federal Parliament, the presence of Ms. Petra Pau with us this year and her request for a confrontation from the Republic of Turkey for TERTELE was an important innovation for us this year.
Ana Cevahir Altunok, Pir Musa Gönül from the AABF faith board, Pirs Seydali Çiçek and Turabi Karabulut from the faith board of our Federation, Ev. Sister Lena Moers from Kirschen Gemeinde Germany, Hakan Demir, Social Democratic Party Member of Parliament from Germany, Hakan Taş from the Left Party, and our artists Nurçin ileri and Müslüm Arlan added their voices to our voices.

Subsequently, two panels were held in memory of Tertele, one in Berlin and one in Bergkamen.
In our panels, Prof. Taner Akçam made presentations on “The Letter of a Perpetrator Who Participated in the Massacre and What It Taught”, Prof. Bedriye Poyraz on “Different Approaches to Dersim 38: Facts, Allegations”, and Researcher and Writer Turabi Saltık on “Dersim, Facing Genocides and Massacres”.
There was great interest in both of our panels. Fruitful and eye-opening discussions were held in which various approaches to Tertele were evaluated. Our panels were moderated by Funda Öztürk, one of our FDG-executives in Bergkamen, and Safter Çınar, a trade unionist in Berlin.
We would like to thank Dimitrios Konstantinidis from the European Platform of Aggrieved Peoples and our dear friend İsmail Koç, the president of the Bergkamen Association, who showed solidarity with our commemoration events.
In addition, we would like to express our respect and love to the directors of the Berlin Alevi Community – Cemevi and its President, Dr. Yüksel Özdemir, AABF-NRW regional representative Nurten Alone, and AABF-faith Board managers.
In the Photos in the Posts, you will see a visit to a Tree that will catch your attention. This Tree is a Monument-Tree that the Una Alevi Cultural Center planted years ago in memory of TERTELE. In the photo, our managers and Pir Turabi Saltık’s visit to this Tree can be seen.
We owe a debt of gratitude to all the souls who contributed to our commemorations, who worked and whom we cannot commemorate here.
We express the trauma that Tertele has left in us with our organizational struggle of up to 30 years, as much as our means and possibilities allow. Although we have made progress in various areas, especially our Dersim 37/38 Dersim Oral History Project, we have not reached the level we desire.
We will continue our search for rights until the Republic of Turkey confronts the Dersim 37/38 Tertele.
